The site Torrent Freak has released its online ranking of the 10 most pirated PC games via torrents in 2008. And the undisputed winner is SPORE, from Electronic Arts.

The huge popularity of the game seems to have convinced a large amount of players to download it illegally, since it is showing 1.7 million illegal downloads, since it was launched in September.

Followed by the Sims 2, is also much prized, and blockbusters like Assassin's Creed or Crysis have also seen big numbers of downloads. Fallout 3, Far Cry 2 and PES 2009 made a grand entrance to the 8, 9 and 10th places even though they have not been out on release for very long.

Even the lowest ranked in the top ten PES 2009 managed nearly half a million downloads.
