Fans of the Tom Clancy books may not necessarily also be fans of the games inspired by his novels. Or visa-versa, but this new Ubisoft offering is another potential hot seller from the company that has been instrumental in bringing his works to the gamming masses. Now the latest offering is available from the Clancy/Ubisoft stable, EndWar.
If something is characterized by the various sagas of video games based on novels by Tom Clancy it is that despite being set in the same global environment, are all quite different from each other.
Looking back, we see numerous spying titles under the name of Splinter Cell, in the third person tactical action with Ghost Recon or first-person shooters in Rainbow Six. Thinking of a few months in the future, we will have a capacity of aerial battles, HAWX, and reverting to the present, we have this EndWar, which is presented as a strategy game in real time.
Ubisoft would then risk a title, which does not bring anything new to the genre. Thus, Ubisoft Shanghai has developed a perfect voice recognition system with which to give orders to our units.

In this case the system of voice commands moves at a quicker pace even more rapidly than with mouse and keyboard, given how well it is implemented, the simplicity of orders to deliver good speed and responsiveness to the game.
As in other parts of the sagas mentioned above, this is environmental EndWar in a hypothetical not too distant future in which humanity is living the Third World War. Disputes between nations, wars and espionage, are the banner-style Tom Clancy, although his novels are set in an imaginary future. Crisis over oil, technology development for weapons purposes, political alliances, wars. We know that all that is there, and although EndWar not help us to avoid it, at least get to have a good time in the game.
The voice recognition system is what makes this game special. Remarkable for its precision in the voice recognition. It works like a walkie-talkie, push a button, talk, release the button, it’s as easy as it sounds. Based on the need for a controller and a headset with microphone, the game will require us to speak with a command structure. Who - What - Who, formed by the words that appear on screen

Attacking an enemy unit will be as simple as pronouncing "joined by four, attacking enemy two," there is a wide variety of commands that we repeat that are always visible on screen.
All this is perfectly selectable without a microphone, but certainly the title would lose much of its charm. Moreover, although to position the camera after a drive is as simple as saying "a camera unit," it is still necessary to use the remote to manoeuvre, thanks to which we can see the full three-dimensional environments.
Although it may seem somewhat complex first, after completing the tutorial, a must-visit, as the game detects sentences without breaks, i.e. without having to stop between each word of the order.
In addition, the game is a typical strategy in real time, keeping some similarities with the saga of strategy shift in Fire Emblem. The first of these patterns mean that the tanks are more effective against the transport, transport against the helicopters, and tanks against them, forming a triangle of weaknesses that we must exploit to bring to a successful mission.
There are other types of units, such as the two infantry, which can go into hiding in buildings to enhance their performance, or artillery, which will attack from a distance.
This is one of the major flaws of EndWar, which is that the number of controllable units seems too low. If a unit survives the mission, it will be possible to use it in subsequent stages of the campaign, with its consequent increase in experience.
But if it falls before its withdrawal, or it can’t be evacuated, nothing will bring the dead back to life. And although they may later deploy additional units, dragging along a large number of casualties will bring long-term consequences.
During the campaign we will require four types of missions to be completed. The most direct, Assault, we are tasked to destroyed all enemy units, while in Raid we will not have to focus on the units, and destroy the buildings marked critical. In the other two modes, Conquest and Siege, we will have to take certain positions, satellite connections, and defend until the end of the countdown.

Missions also move into the multiplayer mode, in which, either against one person or against up to three virtual friends (only multiplayer online), can give free rein to every facet of your strategist and guide the troops to the victory at the same time commanding them, with the simple use of a button to avoid confusion and to make private orders.
In online mode players can experience a real Third World War with active impacts. Every 24 hours, it will update the data of the scenarios available, adapting to the events on that day, meaning each day has a different battle to wage. Without a doubt, an interesting way that added to their facets of RTS and RPG, a touch of MMO that will prolong the life of the game, making it increasingly attractive.
The game features a good level of detail, and in complete interaction with the vast and varied scenery, which is totally destructible, either because a tank rolls over a fence or because an explosion destroyed one of many buildings.

The overall level of textures is just remarkable. The rate of frames per second is very stable, as no lapses or the appearance of a large number of units on screen.
Tom Clancy's EndWar is a title highly recommended for fans of real-time strategy.
Speech recognition is excellent and really a way to streamline the command units, don’t miss out on this one
